Our mission at Nguyen Wellness + Recovery is to empower you to take charge of your health and naturally support your body's own self-healing abilities through the use of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Our approach is holistic and individualized, because the mind, body and spirit are not separate, and every person has a unique pattern of symptoms that require an individual response. Nguyen (pronounced "win") Wellness + Recovery was founded by husband and wife team, Henry & Meredith Nguyen.
Henry Nguyen, L.Ac
Henry Nguyen, L.Ac — the primary practitioner for Nguyen Wellness & Recovery — is a licensed acupuncturist and herbalist through the Texas Medical Board, with a Master's degree in Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine from Texas Health and Science University in Austin, Texas. He is also a nationally-certified Diplomate of Oriental Medicine through the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).
It was Henry's family that first inspired him to become an acupuncturist. Growing up in Vietnam, he witnessed his mom successfully treat many family members and friends through the use of alternative medicine, which sparked his interest early-on. Rather than pharmaceuticals, cupping and herbs were more commonly used to treat the family's seasonal colds or flu, and Henry quickly learned the value of these incredibly effective, ancient practices.
Henry's passion for health and wellness, and his family's holistic medicine influence, ultimately led him to pursue a career in acupuncture & Chinese medicine, and he loves being able to help others find relief and healing, naturally. While he can assist with any health issue you may have, Henry's interests and specialties lie in pain management, neuropathy, and performance enhancement and recovery for athletes.
When he’s not working, Henry can typically be found shooting hoops, jumping in on a pick-up game of football, working out, or playing disk golf.

Meredith Nguyen, L.Ac
Meredith (Stein) Nguyen, L.Ac, is a licensed acupuncturist and herbalist through the Texas Medical Board, as well as a private/corporate yoga instructor (200-hr RYT) and reiki master. She earned her Master's degree in Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine from Texas Health & Science University, and is a Diplomate of Oriental Medicine, certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). She also has degrees in Journalism & Management, and currently works mostly "behind-the-scenes" handling the clinic's administrative needs (but can be booked for appointments by phone or email.)
About 10 years ago, Meredith was teaching English in South Korea and traveling around Asia when she first felt the subtle pull towards the holistic healthcare field. While abroad, she had adopted a more balanced diet and lifestyle, and also began receiving acupuncture to address some of her pain-related issues. Her overall health and energy levels improved dramatically, and her chronic allergies and headaches even disappeared! She knew she needed to do something to help others back home find balance, too. She eventually listened to her heart and applied to acupuncture school (where she also eventually met her future hubby). Her areas of interest lie in treating migraines, digestive issues, anxiety & depression.
Outside of work, Meredith loves cooking, reading, traveling, and hanging out with Henry and the dogs. She is also a vintage clothing enthusiast and fan of the sustainable fashion movement, and runs a small online vintage shop on the side.
